FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
Ordering, trade accounts, and how this range sits alongside clinical treatment.
General
- Is SkinClinic the same product my clinic uses?
- Yes. SkinClinic distributes directly to clinics across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong. The formulations available here are the same ones supplied to our clinic partners — only the commercial terms differ.
- Can I buy without a clinic recommendation?
- Yes, the patient-facing shop is open to everyone. For concerns tied to a diagnosed condition, we recommend speaking with a dermatologist or aesthetic practitioner first.
- What does the professional-use badge mean?
- Professional-use SKUs are supplied to verified clinics and licensed practitioners for in-clinic administration. They are not sold to patients and cannot be added to a cart.
- Do you offer trade accounts?
- Yes. Aesthetic clinics, medspas and dermatologist practices can apply on the For Clinics page. Approval requires business registration and, where applicable, practitioner licensing.
- Which countries can order from this store?
- Checkout is currently open to Singapore and Malaysia, priced in SGD and MYR. Thailand and Hong Kong are served through clinic distribution while direct-to-patient shipping is finalised.
- Who manufactures SkinClinic?
- SkinClinic is manufactured by Carmado, S.L., a medical-aesthetic laboratory in San Vicente del Raspeig, Alicante, Spain, which publishes the brand internationally at skinclinic.es. Curative Pte. Ltd. is the authorised distributor for Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong and operates this store.
- Are these products medicines?
- No. SkinClinic products are cosmetic formulations. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition, and they do not replace treatment prescribed by a clinician.
Pigmentation & Uneven Tone
- How long before pigmentation products show a visible difference?
- Most tone-correcting formulations are assessed over a full skin cycle — roughly 8 to 12 weeks of consistent daily use. Visible change earlier than that is usually hydration and surface texture rather than pigment.
- Can I use brightening products alongside in-clinic pigmentation treatments?
- This range is formulated to sit alongside professional treatment, but sequencing matters. Follow the protocol your practitioner gives you — particularly in the days immediately after a laser or peel, when actives are usually paused.
- Is daily sunscreen necessary with a pigmentation regimen?
- Yes. UV exposure is the single largest driver of pigment re-accumulation. Without daily broad-spectrum protection, a tone-correcting regimen is working against a continuing trigger.
Acne & Post-Acne Marks
- Can I use these products with prescription acne medication?
- Many patients do, but prescription retinoids and oral treatments change how the skin tolerates actives. Confirm the combination with the prescriber before layering.
- What is the difference between a post-acne mark and a scar?
- Flat red or brown marks are post-inflammatory pigment change and typically fade over months. Indented or raised scarring is a structural change in the skin and needs in-clinic treatment — skincare will not resolve it.
Visible Aging & Fine Lines
- When can I restart actives after microneedling?
- Typically 3 to 5 days, but this is a protocol decision your practitioner makes based on depth and your skin response. Restarting too early is the most common cause of post-procedure irritation.
- Does at-home skincare replace in-clinic anti-aging treatment?
- No. This range is a maintenance layer that extends and protects the result of a procedure. It does not reproduce what energy-based or injectable treatments do structurally.
Redness & Sensitivity
- My skin stings with most products. Where should I start?
- Start with a single barrier-repair moisturiser and a gentle cleanser for two weeks before introducing anything else. Stinging usually signals a compromised barrier rather than an allergy to a specific product.
- Is redness always rosacea?
- No. Persistent facial redness has several possible causes, and rosacea is a medical diagnosis only a clinician can make. This range addresses the cosmetic appearance of redness, not the underlying cause.
Barrier Repair & Hydration
- How do I know if my skin barrier is compromised?
- Common signals are tightness after cleansing, stinging from products you previously tolerated, persistent flaking, and skin that looks dull despite hydration. These usually improve within two to four weeks of simplifying a routine.
- Do I still need a moisturiser in a humid climate?
- Yes — humidity affects how skin feels, not whether the barrier has the lipids it needs. Texture choice changes across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong, but the need does not.
Post-Procedure Recovery
- What can I use on day one after a procedure?
- Day-zero-to-three care is usually limited to a gentle cleanser, a bland barrier repair product, and strict sun avoidance. Your clinic sets the specifics — follow their protocol over any general advice here.
- Can clinics retail this range at point of care?
- Yes. This category is structured for clinic retail immediately after treatment, with patient continuation at home. Trade accounts get the protocol sheets that accompany each SKU.
